Minimum government, maximum freedom

Tim "TJ" Ferreira (Libertarian Party) is running for Clark County Treasurer in the general election on November 3, 2026.

The Clark County Treasurer safeguards and invests billions of public dollars and keeps them moving to the people they serve: collecting property taxes and distributing the money to schools, cities, libraries, and special districts. It is a stewardship job, not a political job — and it should be run by someone who has actually done that work.

That has been my work for nearly three decades. I managed $20 million a day — about $7 billion a year — in wholesale energy transactions where accuracy was non-negotiable. I chaired the audit-and-risk supervisory committee of a billion-dollar, multi-state credit union. I built financial software that recovers misallocated money. Today, I trade power in Nevada's energy market; forecasting, planning, and execution are my daily job.

What I will do as your Treasurer

  • Verify your tax cap, automatically. Automated verification that the correct property-tax cap is applied to every parcel, every year — with proactive notification when an error is found.
  • Online everything, 24/7. Paying a tax bill should never require taking time off work — and in-person access should expand, not shrink.
  • Your money, in plain sight. Plain-language, near-real-time transparency on the county's funds, investments, and earnings. Public dashboards are body cameras for public money.
  • Prevention over punishment. Clearer bills, human outreach, payment plans, and financial-literacy partnerships — and excess proceeds from tax sales returned to the families they belong to.

The Treasurer's investment job is not to be clever. It is to be right, every day, with other people's money.
